A Poem Dedicated to My Idol

Everything seems so still
I live my life with no will

Your appearance makes my life glow
Everything goes well like the flow

Your smile captures my heart
Your absence makes life hard

Being with you is the best
Even plain bread is a feast

Oh my darling,
I love your ears droopy
Because you are my one and only Snoopy

My Rich Dream

Last night I had a dream. I dreamt that I was a teenage orphan whom a rich man adopted to keep his wife happy as they had lost their daughter 10 years ago.

I had a good life, and everyone said I was the kindest and sweetest girl in town.

Recently, Mummy (my foster mother), had some doubts about me. Eventually a girl, Sally, jealous of me said she was the real daughter.

Although I was shocked, I did not treat her as an enemy. If Sally really is my foster parents’ daughter, I will just leave.

This is the final test. I had done well in my manners( just like the real daughter’s behaviour) and in my handwriting previously.

Mummy had taken our DNA and checked. Daddy was sure I will be kicked out, so he gave me a cheque. The DNA result is finally out.

My foster parents looked at it and suddenly they gave me a bear hug. “You really are Simone!”

Then I woke up, realizing it was just a dream.

A Just So Story-How The Helmet Got Invented

This happened in a war long before you and I were born.

There was this man whose first name was Walter, last name Melon. He was a widower with seven children. They lived in a hilly region full of watermelon in the Fruit Kingdom. They ate watermelon for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

One day, there was a newcomer to the village called Tomato. An argument broke out between the Fruit Kingdom and the Vegetable Kingdom over who Tomato should belong to. Neither kingdom was willing to give in, so the war began.

Bombs were thrown everywhere, destroying hundreds of lives and cultivation. At that moment, Walter and his family were eating watermelon when he saw a bomb heading towards his direction. Terrified, they hid in the cellar. When the coast was clear, they emerged from their hiding place. To their surprise, their watermelon were still intact.

An idea struck Walter. He quickly lined up his seven children from the shortest to the tallest. With a measuring tape, he quickly measured the size of their heads. He cut some watermelons, dug out the flesh and placed each shell on the heads of his children and himself. Just then, another bomb came, Walter closed his eyes and prayed hard that it worked.

In the end, all eight of them survived.

Few centuries later, the shell made out of watermelon was modified and that was how the helmet got invented.
